I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Matthews being tracked

In the News of the World story on Sunday it mentioned at Cardiff City had agreement with Manchester United to buy Cardiff young star Adam Matthews. The story claimed a £4million offer was on the table which the club denied.

However today chairman Peter Ridsdale revealed there has been interest him from a number of Premier League clubs and both Manchester Untied and Arsenal are watching the siyuation with a tracking brief on him Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale said: “We have had two or three enquiries and I know Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the lad.
“But there is no agreement with any club, verbal or otherwise.
“We want Adam to stay with Cardiff and that’s what we are hoping will happen.
“Our aim this month is to strengthen the squad and we are working on a list of players Dave Jones has provided.
“Hopefully, we can bring a new signing in this week, in time for the Blackpool match.
“That’s what we are working towards. There have been verbal enquiries about two other Cardiff players, but no formal offers for anybody.
“We don’t want to let any key players go.”

Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson look to be on a coruse for another ‘Ramsey’ type battle for his signature has his days with the club are starting too looked numbered. I do not think he will go now but if his improvement continues maybe in the summer, but that could change if the City were to gain promotion.

Other teams could start to show an interest but unless it is the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool they will not have a chance. The South Wales Echo is suggesting the club value Matthews at £4m but will the club allow a bidding war.

Aaron Ramsey was sold at a fixed price (£5m) and the player was left to choose between Manchester United and Arsenal. It looked like Ferguson had won the player over he was willing to loan him back for a season but the personal touch from Wenger won the day and Ramsey has not looked back since.

Not all big moves ended happier ever after look at Chris Gunter when to Tottenham for £2m the January before Ramsey left he played a few game then a change of manager saw him loaned out to Nottingham Forest before a permanent £1.75 deal.

What Matthews needs to do now is to settle back get on with is football and put dreams of the Premier League on the back burner.
