I knew I should have read the Echo before writing on this blog it would seem Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was at the Aston Villa/Blackburn game Saturday to checkout some players. According to the Echo he was checking out Blackburn’s Steven Reid and Aston Valla youngster Fabian Delph. Both players played in the game although Delph did not return for the second half due to illness.
Has reported earlier on my blog Reid speaking to an Irish newspaper said he was happy to stay at Blackburn and wanted to fight for a new contract. If Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce tells the player he is not part of his future plans then maybe Reid would change his mind. He has been on loan at Championship rivals QPR and Cardiff are interested in a loan deal for the rest of the season.
Delph played against Cardiff earlier in the season went Cardiff visited Villa Park for a Carling Cup game earlier in the season and like youngest these days he is getting his main chance of first team football in cup games although he has a few Premier League games under his belt. The question is will Villa boss Martin O’Neill let him out on loan for the rest of the season.
