Looks like the Bluebirds will get the go ahead to sell of the land earmarked for the hotel the South Wales Echo is reporting. If true there is only a short space of time that this deal will be helpful because of the winding up order due on 10th February, if the bill is not paid it will be more than likely the club will be wound-up and that will mean administration.
I can see the taxman being happy that £3million was raised by the club in season ticket sale and they did not any of the money, or have they because no one is telling us the fans. I have no idea where the money went.
Council leader Rodney Berman said he can see no reason that the proposal from Cardiff City wouldn’t go through.
Mr Berman said at a press conference today: “I have every expectation we will take the decision to progress with this on Tuesday.
“Some of the details are still being worked through but all the issues of concern we might have had we’ve been talking through with the club and getting satisfactory answers.
“I can’t see anything that’s going to prevent us getting an agreement.”
The deal will see the council get back 40% of the sale revenue through deferred rental payments from the Cardiff City Stadium. Mr Bensaid the deal guarantee construction of the House of Sport will start within three months.
