It is the end of the week and the News of the World said we would be going out of business because of monies owed to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, well they were fairly close with their story but do not win a ciger. However, chairman Peter Ridsdale is insisting there is nothing to worry about for the fans, the debt will be paid by the end of January has planned. Chairman Peter Ridsdale insists: "We have every confidence that all monies owing to HMRC will have been repaid by the end of January."
A second court date has been set for Wednesday, 10 February for the winding up order but if the club were to paid the debt at the end of the month the court case would be dropped.
Ridsdale has said in a statement, "In discussions with HMRC at the end of December 2009, we confirmed that we would pay monies owing to them by the end of January 201.
"HMRC booked a back stop date of 10 February 2010 to go back to court if, for any reason, we had not been able to fulfil our obligations to pay by the end of January.
"We have every confidence that all monies owing to HMRC will have been repaid by the end of January."
The first winding up order in December was dismissed after the club was reported to have struck a deal with the HMRC to set up a payment the first payment due on 22nd December the club missed that date.
This month is going to be an expensive month one way or another for the Bluebirds. They have to pay-off the taxman, and start paying the Langston debt with the first instalment due this month and fund Dave Jones transfer request’s. Deep pockets are to be need at the Cardiff City Stadium, can all this be funded out of the season ticket deal money.
