No players this transfer window ............I do not no one fan who believed new players were on the way to help with the push to the Premier League and the statement by the club today puts a seal on that. Club Statement We have been let down but saving the club is the most important issues for Chairman Peter Ridsdale and I think every Cardiff City fan would want that over bring in new players.
However Peter Ridsdale will have a tough time now and the few fans who supported him will feel like me a ‘Patsy’ or ’Sucker’. Cardiff play Doncester at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday and fans are already calling for a protest in the car park after the game. Of course, the club are sorry they could not keep the promise made to fans who bought their season ticket early that the money was going to manager Dave Jones to buy players in the January window, believed to be £3million. Only a few weeks ago, Ridsdale was guaranteeing new players with the taxman paid and the transfer embargo lifted so when is the taxman going to be pay.
All the financial trouble seems to stem from the move to the new stadium and the inability to secure new investment. There are supposed to be three parties interested in buying the City, Americans who we know nothing about but is suppose to be the rich of the three their representatives have been in talks with Ridsdale. Next, we have the Malaysians who Ridsdale has been courting for sometime but although one has made a small investment for a seat on the board it as gone very quiet with them. That leaves Ben Steele who is willing to buy the club for £40million but is not the richest potential football club owner and would need other investors to join him to push the club forward.
The club plan sell of “assets” not players according to them but other holdings, land which earmarked for a hotel. Premiership is necessary now or we can kiss goodbye to our best players in the summer.
