West Brom managed to break the odds last night and play there top of the table clash with Nottingham Forest, and probably wish they had not bothered after suffering a 3-1 defeat.
The win saw Forest jump above West Brom into second place and along with top of the table Newcastle and third place West Brom are opening a sizeable gap. Fourth place Cardiff are now eight points behind so a win tomorrow if the game is on is all-important but Blackpool will not be coming just to lie down.
Well done to Cardiff City for getting today game on.
Has for today’s game the postponement last week has helped City boss Dave Jones with injuries so there are more players in the mix including a number of returnees for loan deals defenders Tony Capaldi and Darren Dennehy, midfielder Darcy Blake and striker Warren Feeney have all returned.
Today Gavin Rea is expected to be back after a quick recovery from a hand injury.
Joe Ledley would have benefited from the break to rest his ongoing hip injury. Jay Bothroyd was classed has only 50/50 with a knee injury for last weekend but should be fix for this afternoon. Jones should have full backs Kevin McNaughton (hamstring) and Mark Kennedy (calf) passed fit open up a number of options for his defence.
