Can the City Council save the Bluebirds

Cardiff make the front-page of the South Wales Echo with banner headlines ‘BLUEBIRDS ASK COUNCIL FOR £2M LIFELINE’ on see it my first thought was Chairman Peter Ridsdale was asking Cardiff City council for a loan.

However, after reading the article the club are asking the council to authorise an urgent sale of land earmark for a hotel and has planning permission. The sale could raise almost £2m, which could help pay the taxman. The council plan to hold a meeting next Tuesday to discuss the clubs request and if they agree according to the paper it would leave the club six working days to raise the money from the land.

It will not be an easy request has the money from the sale of the land was earmarked to go toward the ‘House of Sport’. The council could be minded to help the club but they have a duty to rate/taxpayers of the City of Cardiff.

What a terrible move it would be for the council to bow to pressure from a despirate cheating organisation and jepourdise loosing support from the public. Cardiff City FC will continue to swindle their way in business until Ridsdale is gone. As a resident of Cardiff I would be very dissapointed in the council if they made this move
