Cardiff City will have two extra mouths to feed from next week, as Darcy Blake returns from his loan spell with Plymouth also joining him will be Tony Capaldi whose short loan to Leeds end’s on Monday. Blake will miss Plymouth FA Cup clash with Newcastle today and will be reporting for training Monday at the Cardiff City training ground. Capaldi should miss tomorrows trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United has Cardiff would not want him cup-tied.
Both players were hoping to have their loan deals extended or made permanent. The Plymouth coach Paul Mariner would like to keep Blake but there is a transfer embargo place on them by the League for the non-payment of undisclosed debts. Plymouth are waiting on funds from Japan to “stabilise” their financial position which will then mean the transfer embargo being lifted.
Blake would like to stay and told the Herald Sport, “Hopefully, it will be sorted out before long so I can get back.
“I spoke to Paul Mariner yesterday, and on New Year’s Eve, and he told me he wanted to keep me but something had happened and he couldn’t sign me.
“He said as soon it was sorted out he would phone me straight away. That’s all I know.”
He went on to say, “Hopefully, Cardiff won’t send me out on loan to another club and things with Plymouth are sorted quickly.
“I definitely want to come back because I have really enjoyed myself here. Its fingers crossed now.”
Capaldi is in the same boat; he wants first team football and believes his best chance would be away from the Cardiff City Stadium. He too is hoping for an offer from Leeds to stay on Cardiff boss Dave Jones indercated a week ago there was a chance of a permanent deal there to be had.
