I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Sponsor trouble at the CCS

What a joke just days ago there was a big fanfare with the announcement of a shirt sponsorship deal and days later it’s all gone tits up, it could only happen to Cardiff City. The club don’t seem to be worried about the situation and the team played tonight at Reading with the sponsor’s name on their shirts.

The sponors 777ball.com have no licence to operate or advertise in the European region has the club was informed by the Gambling Commission banned the logo. A club spokesman said, “There is no comeback for Cardiff City.
“We agreed to take the logo off for the match at Reading and now we wait for things to be sorted out. It seems unlikely that will happen before Saturday’s home match against Queens Park Rangers, but there is no danger with the sponsorship and the 777ball logo will be back on the shirts as soon as their licence is granted.”

The deal should still be honoured and the logo should be back on the shirts within weeks the deal is worth a reported £250,000 to the club.

An official statement was issued by Cardiff City
“Following advice from the Gambling Commission, Cardiff City removed the sponsor’s logo from their shirts for tonight’s match.
“The Gambling Commission informed us the sponsor, 777ball, should obtain a licence enabling them to advertise their services within the European Economic Area.
“At the moment, 777ball hold a licence issued in the Phillipines where they are based.
“Cardiff City went ahead with the sponsorship in good faith after discussions with the Football League. The Gambling Commission will meet representatives of 777ball next week and we are grateful to the Commission for their efforts to resolve the matter.
“In the meantime, 777ball have expressed their determination to act correctly over the sponsorship and will be applying for the appropriate licence.”
