It seemed like yesterday, it was yesterday I was writing happy thoughts of Ross McCormack return maybe for the Carling Cup game away to Aston Villa. The setback was revealed after the played had a scan to check out his troublesome hamstring only to find he was still at least two weeks away.Cardiff City boss Dave Jones hoped the Scottish striker would have healed as quickly as he did the last time he had the same injury saying, “Ross has had a similar problem before and last time he came back too quickly. That will not be happening this time. The doctors say the tear has not healed properly and that has set his progress back.”
With only Jay Bothroyd, Michael Chopra and youngest Josh Magennis for Jones to call on, the only other strikers Warren Feeney is injured and loan striker Kelvin Etuhu is back with the Manchester City medical team and out for up to eight weeks and now it is feared his ankle problem may need to be pinned.
Dave Jones needs to find some striker cover in the loan market and fast, Cardiff have a lot of games in the next 16 days, four league games plus a the Carling Cup game next Wednesday with Villa.
