I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

Ex-Bluebirds fight in out in Wellington ..... New Zealand

Two ex-Cardiff City strikers’ slugged it out today in of all places Westpac Stadium Wellington, New Zealand in a A-League match.

Wellington Phoenix and North Queensland Fury played out a 1-1 draw with Robbie Fowler playing for the Fury while on the Phoenix team was Chris Greenacre who came to Ninian Park on loan back in the late 90’s from Manchester City.

The Fowler story was a simple one let go by Liverpool and a free agent but a chance meet brought him to Ninian Park with a bit of a fanfare and soon every other Cardiff City top had Fowler on it. He then missed the start of the season because if lack of fitness but injury was the biggest problem and out of a 50+ number of game he could have played in he, only managed 13 games for the Bluebirds scoring four goals.

In the summer he was offered a pay-as-you-play contract with Cardiff for the 2008–09 but he was thrown a bone by friend, ex-team mate and then manager of Blackburn Rovers Paul Ince. The draw of the Premiership was too strong for Fowler and off to Blackburn he when but not long after that Ince was out of the door with his P45 in hand. The once god Fowler then spent his time shining up the subs bench when he got a chance.

On the other Greenacre had a short loan spell with the Bluebirds joining just after the start of the 1997 season score on his first game and when on the play ten more League game scoring just one more he also had a run out in the new FAW Invitation competition. He was brought in due to the injuries to strikers Carl Dale and Kevin Nugent and he then manager Russell Osman asked his club for another month to cover the rest of October which they agreed with. Cardiff were also chasing Leo Fortune-West and Andy Saville who join on a £100,000 deal.
