During the meeting at Merthyr Peter Ridsdale took time to spell out some of the rumours surrounding Hull and the Bluebirds. He claimed Hull had made a very good offer to take Ross McCormack to Hull, the offer was in the millions but the club turned it down because it fell short of Cardiff’s valuation for him.
A cash plus player deal was suggested by Daniel Cousin agent, the player has been previously linked with the Bluebirds while he was at Rangers he was watch but Cardiff City boss Dave Jones decided he was not the right player for him.
Ridsdale said: “We were looking at him when he was with Rangers, but twice now we have decided no.
“His agent has been trying to put him into us – as a swap with Ross McCormack."
Yet in today’s Hull Daily Mail Cousin’s agent Willie McKay is still giving a possible deal on the hard sell saying, "He's got a contract for a couple of years at Hull.
"I wouldn't think that Daniel would want to move to a Championship club but Dave Jones at Cardiff is a good manager and always liked him when he was at Wolves."
Cousin’s is on a kind of gardening duty after a fallout with the Hull City boss, Cousin’s looked to be join Premiership new boys Burnley before to transfer deadline but before signing had a few choice words to say only for the deal to fall through.
The Hull boss Phil Brown was to tell the press he was unhappy playing £5m for a Championship player. McCormack has since been sideline with injury and could be out for a few more weeks.
