It might of taken a few days to be official but Solomon Taiwo has signed for Cardiff City. Taiwo has taken a long and wading road for a 24-year-old to Cardiff City and the Championship he started out with Millwall but was let go without playing a first team game then he drop into non-league football playing for, Bromley, Maidenhead United, Fort Wayne Fever (USA), Tooting & Mitcham, Weymouth, Chesham United, Windsor & Eton, Bromley and Sutton United quite a journey. While at Sutton he had a loan out to Dagenham & Redbridge impressed the manager to go back a sign him up.Taiwo as only played one full season in League Football but was a regular throughout the season scoring six league and cup goals but became a fans favourite. Cardiff have been watching him and have a prefect chance to run an eye over him has a player recently when Cardiff took on his old club Dagenham & Redbridge in the Carling Cup and produced a man of the match performance. The deal to bring him to the Cardiff City Stadium is worth around £250,000 with Dave Jones the Cardiff boss saying about his new acquisition, “The deal is done and dusted and we think Solomon is a good addition to our squad.
“No offence to Dagenham, but it is going to be a massive jump up for him now, but we think he’s got what it takes. We believe playing with the players he will be with here could well draw the best out of him.
“He’s very athletic and good on the ball with an eye for a good pass. We have been monitoring him for a long and it is good to have him on board.”
The midfielder watched his new team mates progress into the 3rd round of the Carling Cup and could find himself in the squad for Saturday’s Championship clash at Doncaster.

As well as turning out for 10 non-league clubs including my home town outfit Maidenhead United, I saw Taiwo fire in a beauty for Dagenham & Redbridge in a cup tie against Reading a year ago. Tall. leggy and athletic, he could be a great addition to the squad.
