I do know my spelling, grammar and punctuation is CRAP. I put it down to my lack of schooling preferring to mitch (truanting from school) rather than go to school. The joke is firmly on me now, which will bring a smile to any of my old English teachers.

If I was a richman - I would be an awayfan

Two year ago when Scunthorpe were promoted into the Championship they took 2,500 to their opening game of the season, back into the Championship this season and so far with only three days left to get tickets, Scunthorpe have so far sold only 400 tickets of 1,500 available for the visit to Cardiff City on Saturday. (Picture to your left shows the travel destination for Bluebirds )

The local press are claiming that Cardiff is much further than Charlton as a reason for the lack of interest from the Scunthorpe fans but there is only a seven mile difference, it has to be down more to the credit crunch that the fans not wanting to come, not even the draw of a new stadium could bring them down it seems.

It will cost an adult fan close to £50 just for the ticket and coach travel and that with food and drink costs.

Cardiff fans could be hit with the same kind of expense to go the Blackpool for the first game away it will be around £50 with the food and drink and again on the Tuesday Cardiff are away to Plymouth more money, another £50 pound plus trip, to game in three days, and a home game on Saturday, if you are a season ticket holder your ticket is sorted but there still is a expense to the game.

The days of cheap football are long gone.
