Heaton would like to stay

On loan goalkeeper, Tom Heaton has the right idea when it comes to his career get away from Manchester United if he wants regular football. He is hoping that Cardiff City boss Dave Jones will pick him up at the end of the season after a having a reasonably season. The City boss has Peter Enckelman on the books along with two other loan keepers, both of whom have expressed an interest in staying with the City Stuart Taylor (Aston Villa) who had his loan period extended until the end of the season and the Greek international Demitrios Konstantopoulos on loan from Coventry City. Konstantopoulos will more any likely be on his way back to his club and with boss Dave Jones rumoured to be checking out another keeper from Northern Ireland may one of the other loan keeper could be missing from the squad for next season.

Heaton told the South Wales Echo: "I have a year left on my contract and I`m due to go back in the summer - but I think I need to get away now and be playing. I`ve had a taste of it now and I don`t want it to stop."
